The library's online catalog (it's called iPAC) is accessible from your home or office computer, or any other computer that's connected to the Internet.
How to get to the catalog...

Now that you are in the catalog, you can...
Search the library's catalog
You will start out at the Basic search screen. Use the pull-down menu to select the type of search you want to do, then type in the search box.
You can also do a more advanced search with limiting features by clicking on the Advanced link.
Once you have your list of search results, items owned by Lockport Public Library will be noted as such where it says Location Lockport Public Library.
Place a hold
After completing the steps listed above in "Search the library's catalog," you can now place a hold on an item by clicking on the Request Item button.
If the item can be placed on hold, you will be prompted to enter the barcode (Borrower ID) from your library card. After you type in your number, click on the Login button. (Note: If the item cannot be placed on hold or you need to resolve something (fines, overdues, etc.) on your library record before you can place a hold, you will see a message stating so.)
On the Request Confirmation screen, make sure that Ransomville Library is selected as the location will you will pick up the material, then click on the Request button.
Check your library record
Click on My Account.
Enter the barcode (Borrower ID) from your library card and click on the Login button.
You will see your name (Welcome Doe, John) in the upper right portion of the screen.
You will also see an overview of your Items Out, Hold Requests, Blocks, and Patron Profile. Click on any of these links to get to more detailed information.
Renew items you have checked out
Go into your library record as described above in "Check your library record."
Click on Items Out.
From the list of items that you currently have checked out, click in the box next to any item(s) and then on the Renew button.
If the item can be renewed, you will note that the due date has changed. (Note: Items can only be renewed once.)
If the item cannot be renewed, you will see a message stating so. (Note: Items that are overdue or on hold cannot be renewed.)
(There is a HELP feature built into the catalog where you can get even more detailed assistance in using the iPAC. The instructions given here are intended to be an overview of the most frequently used features.)
